Kenmare, nestling between the mountains and the sea, is known as the Jewel in the Ring of Kerry. It is perfectly situated for anyone wishing to tour the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. Walkers can trek The Kerry Way and Beara Way and the MacGillycuddy Reeks, Ireland's highest mountains, are within driving distance. Packed full of restaurants, bars and shops there is plenty to do in the town itself. The stone circle in the centre of town is the finest in South West Ireland. There is a pretty harbour fishing and swimming and the Seafari departs from here several times a day. Kenmare has two golf courses, one of which is walking distance from the town. Other activities in the area include diving, fishing, water sports and pony trekking. After a day sightseeing, why not take in one of the town's many pubs and bars offering music.
