We booked our stay at Davitts from our last B&B, after reading about Davitts in a "best places to stay" book, and were very pleased. Our room looked like it had just been renovated, excellent bathroom, wonderful breakfast, great location right in the middle of the action in Kenmare and surrounded by great restaurants, including the one on the first floor! One of the nice things about Davitts is that they aren't part of the late night bar scene, so you won't have to listen to thumping music from below when you decide to go to bed. We highly recommend driving the around the Beara Peninsula, which is beautiful. We highly recommend Davitts, great place at a very reasonable price. Kenmare is a fun little town. If you visit Kenmare then definitely worth staying here for the night. Go if only for the food. Kenmare is the prettiest and friendliest town in real Ireland. Davitt's rooms are modern, comfortable and quiet. Their restaurant is a pleasant surprise serving outstanding food with local flavor made with local ingredients. Kenmare & Davitt's is still my favorite destination in Ireland after many, many trips there. |
